I’m Gabrielle and I’m a poet (of sorts) who programs on the side. I’ve been published a couple of times, rejected a couple more, and am mostly too shy to put myself out there or share outside my comfort zone. I will from time to time. You’ll see.
Title is from bit of a poem I wrote, here’s the correct stanza:
i was like bluebeard, in a way, the small room of the châteauof my heart locked against entry. the blood of past swain etched into the walls. for now, his breath a warm stain against my neck as he whispered the nonsense of lovers. the same words that made me feel as if i were circe, caught on an island, entwined with the ever-leaving lover.
